Synopsis by Sarah Sloboda
The Canadian television series Degrassi Junior High has been praised regarding the extent to which it deals realistically with the issues of adolescence. A continuation of Kids of Degrassi Street, which was set in a racially and economically diverse city neighborhood, the program became popular for its upfront presentation of emotional issues. In this episode, B.L.T. faces issues of racism when Michelle's parents won't let her go to the dance with him. Spike also faces prejudice when her potential employer reacts to her appearance.
