Synopsis by Leslie Birdwell
From Season One of Debbie Travis' Painted House, Episode 131, a master bedroom reflects the breadth of the British Empire, when England ruled the sea, the Indian subcontinent, and large parts of Asia and Africa. Design elements from various cultures are folded into a harmonious whole. Debbie "combs" the back wall with paint to create a grass "cloth" weave and borders that wall with a leather-look border near the ceiling. An old trunk is seemingly covered with leopard skin and a privacy screen looks like it's gone around the world papered with stamps and pieces of maps, matching the travel lamp shade.
