Despite its title, Debbie Does Dallas Uncovered isn't the in-depth exposé that one might expect. The problem is that there isn't much story to tell; as many of the interview subjects admit, Debbie Does Dallas was a mediocre porn throwaway that got lucky because of its novel story hook and the presence of an attractive lead starlet. As a result, Debbie Does Dallas Uncovered has trouble sustaining its 47-minute length and has to incorporate a lot of side material that is barely connected to the main subject. For example, a lot of time is spent on the story of an undercover FBI agent who investigated porn and suffered a nervous breakdown -- it's interesting but has little-to-nothing to do with telling the story of Debbie Does Dallas. The documentary is further hurt by the fact that most of the people involved in making the film either weren't interested in talking or are no longer around. The few who do participate have some interesting things to say about the adult-film business but have few memories of the film that this documentary is supposed to be focusing on. Ultimately, Debbie Does Dallas Uncovered fails to live up to its name.
