Seeking out a cure for his wife's serious illness, gonzo entomologist Jacob Schroeder (Shane Brolly) heads deep into the Amazon rain forest, trapping thousands of killer wasps. It is Schroeder's contention that the venom from the wasp's stingers can be of great medicinal benefit. But before he can prove this theory, his plane crashes, and the tiny scourges are set free to wreak havoc throughout Mexico -- with the United States next on the hit list. Filmed in 2002 under the title Black Fire, Deadly Swarm made its American cable TV premiere courtesy of the Sci-Fi Channel on September 20, 2003.
