Synopsis by Alice Day
Huntington's Disease is an inherited disorder that affects the nervous system, and results in twitching movements, difficulty in swallowing, clumsiness, walking problems, and mental slowness. It is progressive, and there is no cure. Researchers have isolated the gene that causes Huntington's, and people who suspect they might be carrying it can be tested for the disease. In Deadly Inheritance, Christie Kilgore undergoes a blood test to see if she has inherited the illness that has attacked members of her family. She must wait months before learning whether the news is good or bad.
