Synopsis by Mark Deming
Death and troubling memories are the key ingredients of this downbeat independent drama. Joey (Haim Abramski) is an emotionally unsettled young man with a history of drug abuse. When his girlfriend Laura (Elisabeth Gondek) dies, Joey is unable to deal with the trauma, and he hops in his car (with Laura's remains) and travels from New Jersey to his former home in West Virginia. However, the trip sparks a number of flashbacks that show that the relationship between Joey and Laura was not as idyllic as he likes to pretend it was. This debut feature from writer/director Constantin Werner was shown at the 1998 AFI Film Festival.
