Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Something of a real-life X-Files, the made-for-cable TV series Dead Famous: Ghostly Encounters featured a team of paranormal investigators -- one a skeptic, one a true believer -- who went around the country investigating supernatural phenomena related to deceased celebrities. Gail Porter didn't entirely believe in ghostly "visitation," but she was willing to learn; her partner Chris Fleming was a "sensitive" who had close encounters with the paranormal since birth. The individual episodes dealt with unusual occurrences in and around the old haunts of such prominent decedents as Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Jayne Mansfield, and Buddy Holly. Dead Famous: Ghostly Encounters first materialized on June 28, 2005.
