Synopsis by Tracie Cooper
Directed by Ricardo Elias, De Passagem (Passing By) chronicles two separate journeys across the city of Sao Paulo: one a reluctant drug run and the other involving the same people, minus one, several years later. The second trip has a much more serious purpose -- the young men must identify the body of the missing member. In doing so, the very different paths of the two survivors are revealed, though their innermost nature isn't quite as apparent. Although one looks to be an upstanding citizen in every way, he's become self-righteous in his adulthood, while the other, despite his slovenly appearance, has gotten off drugs and is attempting to live a more honest existence. Once they reunite, both are forced to reconsider the acts and lasting effects of their pasts. The film features Silvio Guindane, Fabio Nepo, Louhan Brandao, Glenys Rafael, and Paulo Igor.
