The tumultuous life of a hide-bound farmer, unwilling to respond to modern life's requirements, is the subject of this film. Grotzepuur (Schaggi Streuli) through a combination of drunkenness and stubborn adherence to archaic farming practices manages to lose his farm, despite the good advice given to him by his son. De Grotzepuur, filmed in a regional Swiss dialect, marks the directorial debut of Mark M. Rissi.
