Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This exotically-titled feature is actually a filmed record of the recent Denis-Roosevelt expedition to the Belgian Congo. With Brussels as its embarkation point, the explorers head to the Moroccan desert, thence to the wilds of the Congolese jungle. Among the fascinating sights offered herein are a particularly athletic Pygmy tribe and a race of 7-foot-tall "giants." The producers hoke up the proceedings with a few "narrow escapes" that more closely resemble something out of a Republic serial. Like most of the Denis-Roosevelt productions, Dark Rapture was an early arrival on local television.
