Synopsis by Hal Erickson
World-renowned circus performer Cecil Spooner was the female star of World Films' The Dancer and the King. Spooner is cast as a resourceful young dancer who befriends the monarch of a mythical European kingdom. Overhearing a plot to assassinate the king, our heroine disguises herself as a soldier to thwart the conspirators. Though it isn't made clear at the end, the audience is led to assume that the king marries the dancer out of gratitude. Not entirely believable, The Dancer and the King was nonetheless ambrosia for Cecil Spooner's legions of fans.
