The influence of fathers in the lives of their daughters is the focus of Daddy's Girls, which disputes the theory that mothers are the dominant force. Studies reveal that a father's opinion can determine what sort of man his daughter will marry, and the direction her career choice will take. When a father regards a daughter as he would a son, the daughter will emerge as a high achiever, according to research. However, if a dad chooses to neglect a daughter, she may grow up with a negative self-image, and resort to eating disorders and other ailments that indicate a lack of confidence.
