Synopsis by Paul Durica

Baltimore-based filmmaker Tony Malanowski extends his theme of Civil War-inspired terror established in Night of Horror with this tale of flesh-hungry Johnny Rebs. The mayhem begins when three hunters and their girlfriends stumble upon a forgotten battlefield and burial ground. After one hunter disturbs the graves and steals a journal belonging to a Confederate captain, the South rises again. The hunters counter with exploding bullets. Pyrotechnic effects and a lengthy scene of cannibalism transpire before the surviving hunters learn the truth of the eponymous curse. Night of Horror veteran Steve Sandkulher stars. Technical difficulties ranging from debris in the film gate to out-of-synch dialogue to day/night lapses in continuity add to the amateur fun, marking Malanowski as a worthy successor to Ed Wood. This movie was also released as Curse of the Screaming Dead and Curse of the Confederate Cannibals. Distributor Troma regards Curse as one of its five worst films.
