Synopsis by Josh Ralske

The premiere episode of Larry David's HBO comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm begins with Larry (Larry David) showing his wife, Cheryl (Cheryl Hines), how his new pants bunch up around his crotch. They discuss the possible ramifications of "The Pants Tent" and Larry decides he kind of likes the idea of people thinking he's "erect" all the time. Larry wants to see the new Dustin Hoffman movie with Cheryl, but she has yoga, so he calls his friend, comedian Richard Lewis (Richard Lewis) and asks him. Richard is going to the same movie in the same theater at the same time, but he's going on a date, and Larry is mildly incensed when Richard doesn't invite him along. Things get worse for Larry, who is loathe to go to the movies by himself, when Cheryl suggests to her friend Nancy (Robin Ruzan) that she go to the movie with Larry. At the theater, he has an altercation with a woman who refuses to stand up and let him pass through to his seat. She also accuses Larry of staring at her breasts. The woman turns out to be Sofia (Sofia Milos), Richard's new girlfriend. (Larry tells Richard later, "They're not breasts -- they're just big chemical balls!") Complicating matters further, while Nancy is consoling Larry after the argument, she notices, and misinterprets, his bunched-up pants.
