Synopsis by Hal Erickson

One assumes that director Robert Z. Leonard handled all the scenes in The Crippled Hand in which star Robert Z. Leonard did not appear, and that co-director David Kirkland handled the rest. Diminutive heroine Ella Hall dreams that she's Cinderella, and that a wealthy gentleman of her acquaintance (played by Leonard) is her Prince Charming. All of this takes place during a musical stage production of Cinderella, a sequence distinguished by its authentic backstage atmosphere. The double-exposure work in the fantasy sequences were reportedly topnotch, making it all the more unfortunate that the film is no longer available for viewing. The title refers to a subordinate character, played by Kingsley Benedict, who serves as a last-minute plot-resolver.
