Synopsis by Alice Day
The sudden death of a seemingly healthy baby is known as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), or crib death. It occurs without warning, and is the leading cause of death among infants between one month and one year old. While there are some things parents can do to lessen the risk, crib death is not preventable; despite this fact, families experience feelings of guilt that they did something wrong. Crib Death, narrated by Harry Reasoner, features interviews with parents who have lost children in this manner. Devices that monitor the breathing of infants during sleep are shown.
