Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Verónica Riedel takes the directorial reins for this hard-hitting confrontational drama that examines the economic disparities between two vastly different social classes in contemporary Guatemala - and the illicit drug trade that links them, keeping the poor enmeshed in dead-end violence. At the center of the story is Fonsi, a 12-year-old boy. Though initially it seems that he hails from a privileged background, in truth his family is wildly dysfunctional. Soon, external disaster strikes that brings Fonsi's clan tumbling down - and permanently changes each member. The cast features Sebastian Gereda, Giacomo Buonafina, Atli Scoenbeak and Marylena Jerez.
