Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Gunshot is the brief and succinct English-language title for this heavy-breathing French melodrama. In love with the beautiful Ginette LeClerc, aristocratic Austrian army officer Aime Clariond is forced to keep up "appearances" by refusing to acknowledge her existence. What Clariond doesn't know is that his own lieutenant, Raymond Rouleau, is madly in love with LeClerc. When he finds out, the honor-bound Clariond challenges Rouleau to a duel, but the latter, not wishing to have blood on his hands, merely shoots his weapon into the air. The outraged Clariond intends to kill Rouleau for this breach of dueling protocol, but in his own time, and only when it will cause Rouleau the most emotional pain.
