Synopsis by Alice Day
During the making of this series, James Burke made much use of on-site filming in many countries, and in Connections 2: Photo Finish, he goes to Le Mans to provide some atmosphere. He also reaches into the vast BBC photo archives to illustrate key points in his discussions, as he continues to explore the links between elements that seem unrelated. Burke moves back and forth in time to show viewers how events and discoveries influenced the growth of technology. In this program, he offers information on brownie cameras, false teeth, creosote, blimps, relativity, and gun cotton.
