Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
The title of this film refers to a bar on the outskirts of the city (and on the fringes of society), in this drama laced with black humor and cynicism. The owner of the bar (Francoise Beuckelaers) was a mercenary in the Belgian Congo who left carrying his machismo and militaristic attitudes with him. Aside from whatever hang-ups he already has, his life gets worse when a woman he used to love shows up with her current lover. Other people come in and out of the bar, yet the story revolves around three couples whose lives interact over time, as shown in flashbacks.
