Synopsis by Bruce Calvert

This Felix the Cat cartoon is done in the style of the contemporary Koko the Clown cartoons. An animator's hand draws Felix but forgets to draw his tail and color him black. Felix gets the hand to draw his tail but must become inventive to get his color. He finds a female cat that is crying because her boyfriend cat has left her. The girl cat is ugly, so Felix gets an eraser, and erases her face, redrawing her with a beautiful face and making her a dress from a flower. She wants some pearls, so Felix makes a scary trip under the sea to fetch her a necklace. Next she wants a fur coat, so Felix must retrieve one from a live bear. She is still not happy, so Felix gives up. In this imaginative cartoon, the hand of the animator (actually a photograph of one) interacts with the characters and changes the course of the story. This cartoon was drawn with paper frames instead of clear cells. When Felix gets mad at the girl cat, he literally rips her out of the movie!
