Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This program is part of an educational series that focuses on geography, and how the character of a place shapes the character of its people. Each episode, aimed at junior high and high school audiences, features actual live broadcasts from countries all over the world on issues involving geography. This final volume in the series examines political geography. The landscape often determines the natural boundaries of nations. High mountain ranges and long rivers serve as acceptable demarcations for where one country ends and another begins. But sometimes, the lines are not so easily drawn, resulting in disputes over territory and resources. The ensuing conflicts are the subject of this of this episode, with reports from India, Nepal, England, France, and Switzerland.
