Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
A leader in the Rumanian Communist Party travels through the country, revisiting the locales of many of the battles he participated in during the 1950s while trying to persuade the local populace to embrace collective farming. Through flashbacks, it is revealed that during that time, he was imprisoned due to a false accusation by a man he thought was his friend, but eventually he was exonerated and won his freedom. In the present, the man gets involved in the troubles of a factory manager who is experiencing a similar kind of betrayal and is able to be of assistance to him. He is also able to assist another person in a similar situation. This story is based on a novel by Dinu Sararu.
