Synopsis by Maggie Sadler

Directed by the subject’s protégé and occasional collaboration partner Malcolm Ingram, this documentary centers on indie comedy filmmaker Kevin Smith, who rose to fame with his low-budget 1990s indie black-and-white film Clerks, spawning a career made up of quirky slacker-themed films with equally deadbeat characters. Past collaborators and actors like Jason Mewes, Ben Affleck, and Joey Lauren Adams appear in the film alongside interviews with Smith’s mother, daughter, and wife.
