Synopsis by Nathan Southern

A Clash of Eagles represents a monolithic feat in filmmaking. An epic-length, five-hour documentary, Clash maintains an extraordinarily broad focus, taking as its subject the entire history of fighter planes during World War II. Drawing largely from newsreel and archival footage of the aircrafts themselves, and from contemporary interviews with still-living veterans who piloted the craft, Clashgives equal time and emphasis to the men and to the machines to provide a thorough and comprehensive overview of the role that aviation played in the Second World War.
