Clancy is a little girl with a big heart. At the tender age of 11, she takes to the streets to dodge social workers in hopes of returning to her mother once her home life improves. In the grit of the city, she latches on to Nick, a homeless war veteran who wants little to do with life-much less a runaway who won't leave him alone. Soon the mayor, looking for a scheme to ramp up votes for re-election, offers the ill-tempered vagrant a reward to watch over Clancy. But when Nick is forced to skip town with her in tow, the corrupt official's plan escalates to a manhunt-placing the pair in life-threatening danger. As they form an unlikely bond in the face of adversity, Clancy's relentless faith affects Nick in ways he never expected-and ultimately becomes his saving grace.
