Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Tom Schilling both stages and choreographs this ballet version of Charles Perrault's classic fairy tale Cinderella. The music is by Prokofiev, while the production is in the capable hands (and feet) of the Berlin Comic Opera. Given the sophisticated nature of the score, this is Cinderella with a slightly more mature edge than one would find in the more famous Disney animated version. Still, it's nowhere near as adult as the like-vintage Cinderella directed by Michael Pataki, which is flat-out soft core porn. This is why it's very important when renting Cinderella to specify the ballet version.
