Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This History Channel series offered an entertaining overview of the covert espionage and surveillance operations assembled by the Central Intelligence Agency. The first episode dealt with the various disguises adopted by CIA agents, while subsequent installments focused on the organization's many "hidden" headquarters and its propensity for stealing secrets from other governments. Given the media-bashing that the CIA was being subjected to after September 11, 2001, this series was almost benign, even when pointing out the many flaws and failures of the agency. CIA Secrets made its cable-TV bow on June 12, 2002.
