Synopsis by Betsy Boyd
Part of a video series which investigates glass sculptor Dale Chihuly's specific modes of working, Chihuly: Working With Lino Tagliapietra documents Chihuly's collaboration with Italian glass artist Lino Tagliapietra. In 1988, the master glass designers created a series called the Venetians, consisting of extraordinarily large-scale asymmetrical forms. Later, the men decided to work on a much smaller scale, creating what Chihuly named the Piccolo Venetians. Viewers can observe Tagliapietra studying Chihuly's drawings, and bringing them to life in glass-form. The video won the Gold Prize at the 2000 International Television and Video Association Awards.
