This poetic and beautifully photographed Indian film reminds the viewer that the caste system is still alive and well, even in the poor, remote Indian villages. When the well of the "Untouchables" (the lowest of the low) dries up, the Brahmins (the highest but equally impoverished caste) will not give them so much as a drop of water, believing that for them to die of thirst is simply the divine plan.
