Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
South Korean filmmaker Jeong Yeong-bae makes his feature directorial debut with this slice of life family drama concerning a struggling grandfather attempting to make sure his beloved granddaughter is well fed. Park Gu earns a modest living by selling recycled paper on the street. It may not bring in much income, but it does keep food on the table. Gu's financial situation is complicated however, when his son is released from prison and steals his savings. When construction workers accidentally destroy Gu's bicycle-drawn cart, the desperate grandfather goes straight to the home of the construction company head in search of compensation. There, Gu attempts to steal some meat to feed his hungry granddaughter. What Gu doesn't realize is that a disgruntled housekeeper has poisoned the meat, which was meant for the owner's dog.
