Synopsis by Hal Erickson
In order to save Piper (Holly Marie Combs) from a potentially fatal illness, Prue (Shannen Doherty) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) break the code that prohibits witches from casting spells for their own gain. The "Awakening Spell" rescues Piper, but as a consequence several innocent hospital patients contract the dread disease. This tension-laden episode culminates in a fateful decision -- with fateful results -- for the Halliwell girls' Whitelighter, Leo Wyatt (Brian Krause).
