The methods used by commercial fisherman to catch enormous amounts of fish have been sources of controversy for many years. Challenge of the Seas, Vol. 3: Necklace of Death examines the widespread use of drift nets, which frequently trap seals and other animals, along with fish. The creatures cannot escape, and entangled in the nets, die in large numbers. This program offers a look at efforts by teams of rescuers, who struggle to free sea lions from the nets, then heal their wounds before releasing them back into the oceans.
