Synopsis by Janiss Garza
The usually athletic William Russell looks a bit anemic as Canadian Mountie Bruce Cavanaugh in this picture. Cavanaugh is sent to a lonely trading post by the name of Fort Qu'Appelle, along with Trooper Tom Wallace (Arthur Morrison). They're supposed to round up some smugglers, but the gang's leader, Du Barre (James Farley), proves to be their match. Not only that, Cavanaugh falls in love with Du Barre's daughter Madeline (Helen Ferguson). After being arrested, Du Barre escapes and Wallace is murdered. The smugglers, along with Madeline, flee to Arizona, followed by Cavanaugh. He is waylaid by Madeline, who is trying to help her father. Before Cavanaugh's inevitable desert battle with the smugglers, he and Madeline have a fierce battle of wits which doesn't stop them from ending the film in a clinch.
