Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Since Lambert Hillyer had directed a long string of William S. Hart pictures prior to working on this tale of the Alaskan gold country, it's only logical to assume that it contains more than its share of action-packed scenes. Frank Mayo plays John Oxford, who refuses to allow anyone to cheat at the gambling hall he runs. But Doris Henry (Edna Murphy) refuses to believe he has any positive qualities -- she has come to Katama in search of her fiancé, Wallace Towers (Wallace MacDonald), and she believes that Oxford has been a bad influence on him. She enlists the help of guide Pete Scarr (Jack Curtis) to track down the wayward Towers, but Scarr attacks her. Oxford arrives in time to stop him, and the two men agree to a card game, betting Oxford's gold for the girl. For the only time in his life, Oxford cheats and when he wins, Curtis hurls himself at him. The two men fight it out, and then Towers appears. The truth is finally revealed -- Towers didn't need anyone's inspiration to be a crook and a scoundrel. Doris realizes that Oxford is the real "good guy," and marries him.
