Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Produced by the National Council of Catholic Men, The Catholic Hour ran on radio from 1929 and on TV from 1951 to 1970. It was one of three rotating Sunday-morning religious programs, telecast on NBC under the blanket title Frontiers of Faith. Fairly experimental in nature, the TV version of Catholic Hour offered everything from roundtable discussions on controversial topics to specially commissioned half-hour operas. Few of the CH offerings from the 1960s exist today.
