Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Originally Chat dans le Sac, Cat in the Bag is the sort of "small" Canadian film that seems deliberately aimed at art houses and festivals. Montreal journalist Claude Godbout feels alienated from society. He turns to his actress girlfriend Barbara Ulrich for solace, but all she can do is prattle on about theater and sex. There is nothing for Godbout to do but lock himself up in a remote cabin and contemplate his purpose in life. This he does for 74 minutes. Cat in the Bag is as slow as it's possible for a film to get without actually standing still.
