Tour two of Scotland's most enchanting castles. From the acclaimed BBC television series by historian Ian Grimble, Castles of Scotland Vol. 1: Edinburgh and Stirling takes viewers into the spectacular Scottish countryside to visit these romantic tourist attractions. Stirling Castle is considered by some to be the key to the kingdom. In 1314, Robert the Bruce defeated the chivalry of England on the nearby field of Bannockburn. It was the favored residency of the Stewart kings. Edinburgh Castle was the site of more violent events and suffered much battering; consequently, it also underwent several periods of reconstruction. Today, Edinburgh Castle houses the royal regalia and the national war memorial. This video takes viewers wandering through the halls and into the lofty turrets of these intriguing historical monuments. Other videos in the series include Eileen Castle, Glamis, Fort George, and Kinloch Castle.
