Synopsis by Mark Deming

John Cassavetes was one of the best (and most underrated) actors of his generation, but he was also a filmmaker whose powerful, naturalistic dramas explored the knife-edge of human emotions and gave his actors an unprecedented degree of freedom to mold their characters. Cassavetes: Anything For John is a documentary about his life and career, featuring interviews with several of his friends and colleagues, including his wife and frequent leading lady Gena Rowlands, actors Ben Gazarra, Peter Falk and Seymour Cassel, and director Samuel Fuller.
