Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
Cast into exile for his libertine ways, Casanova (Vincent Lindon) arrives on the streets of London without connections until he encounters the charming and alluring Marianne de Charpillon (Stacy Martin), a young courtesan. As Casanova begins to turn his back on other women, desperately hoping to earn but a glance from Marianne, she continues to rebuff his advances, relying instead on her palpable wit to challenge Casanova's scandalous behavior and force him to reconsider what is most meaningful in his life. Based on the novel by Giacomo Casanova. Written and directed by Benoît Jacquot.
