Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
For sixteen years, Cuba generously sent thousands of troops to Angola to fight on one side of that country's long civil war, against troops on the other side backed by white South Africa. The conflict only came to an end when South Africa's government changed. The soldiers left on May 31, 1991 when a peace accord was signed. This drama follows a group of soldiers who are trying to get supplies to the troops. Interestingly, this movie was produced using soldiers from the Cuban army and was filmed entirely in Angola.
