Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Canine Commando is a Disney videocassette compilation of three wartime cartoons, each starring Pluto, the agreeable doggy companion of Mickey Mouse. In The Army Mascot, Pluto tries to keep apace with his uniformed masters by chewing a plug of tobacco--with horrendous results. In Dog Watch, Pluto's in the navy, guarding his ship against an invading rat. And in Canine Patrol, Pluto "joins" the coast guard, only to be distracted by an endearing little turtle. Though the cartoons in Canine Commando are dated, there are none of the anti-German or anti-Japanese slurs of the period which nowadays tend to disturb "politically correct" viewers.
