Kirpi is a Turkish film director, or would be if he could get anyone to produce the script he's trying to develop. Meanwhile, he lives off the earnings his wife makes dubbing Marilyn Monroe's part in films. All the big-money men tell him he ought to make a lavish costume drama, but he's not interested in doing that. Meanwhile, he must deal with an increasingly troublesome situation with the family maid, who is a rather slow-witted woman whose husband has been beating her up regularly. This happens one time too often, and Kirpi decides to do something about it by bringing her brothers back with him from their rural village -- a move whose consequences he is unprepared to understand. This comic drama was a box-office hit in Turkey, and won "Best Film" honors at the 1991 Istanbul International Film Festival.
