Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Samson South (Dustin Farnum) is a young man of the Cumberland mountains whose family is at odds with another clan. But he leaves the mountains to travel to New York with an artist friend, and he decides to study art himself. Slowly, he drops his crude ways and adapts to the big city, and with the help of instructor Adrienne Lescott (Myrtle Stedman), he becomes a fine painter. However, he still finds it necessary to return home to lead the Souths against their foes, and to marry his sweetheart, Sally Spicer (Winifred Kingston). This picture was based on the book and play by Charles Neville Buck.
