Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This Mexican children's film concerns a most unchildlike subject: the traditional "Day of the Dead" celebration. David Gonzalez plays a small boy who discovers that the Devil plans to take over the festival. His Satanic Majesty's master plan is to replace the sugar skulls made in Calacan with cheap plastic imitations. Gonzalez foils this (literally) diabolical scheme with the help of the festival's "skeleton boy." You don't have to be Mexican to understand Calacan, but it sure helps.
