Synopsis by Sarah Ing

Cal Pozo's technique for teaching dance is an easily absorbed method broken down into simple steps. In Learn to Dance in Minutes: The Latin Dances, Pozo applies his moves to the rumba, cha-cha, salsa/mambo and the tango. Pozo begins his lesson with a visual layout of the pattern. He follows it with a physical demonstration of the steps shown by both male and female partners. The camera angle is from the learner's point of view. Finally, the entire dance is put together and shown by two teachers. In addition to breaking down the steps, Pozo incorporates tips on the necessary Latin hip movement and how to improvise turns. Pozo was one of the first competitive dancers to include ballet, jazz, and modern movements in his ballroom exhibitions. His experience offers the struggling dancer a thorough plan for learning to move, Latin style.
