Synopsis by Mark Deming
The Burn to Shine video series was created by musician Brendan Canty (best known for his work with Fugazi) as a forum for staging and recording memorable independent music shows in various cities. Burn to Shine: Washington DC 01-14-2004 kicks off the series with a show staged and filmed by Canty at a house in Washington, D.C., which was scheduled for demolition later the same day. Performers include D.C. natives Weird War, Q and Not U, and the Evens, as well as Ted Leo and Bob Mould.
