A story of haenyeos or women of the sea who have to hold their breath to survive. This 7-year record of their lives in Udo, an islet in the Jeju Province, located off the southern coast of Korea, watches them dive into waters 10-to-20 meters in depth to harvest seaweed and shellfish to make a living. They work from 7 to 8 hours a day without even a sip of fresh water. They make a living in the same sea, but each has a different story, as the film takes a close look into their lives that stand on the boundary between life and death.
