Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Ivor Novello stars with Gladys Cooper in the historical drama Bonnie Prince Charlie. Charles Stuart (Novello) meets Flora MacDonald (Cooper) at a ball in Edinburgh and falls in love. She remains loyal to the king even after he is chased by Sir John Cope (Bromely Davenport) and Robert Fraser (Hugh Miller). Charles flees to France to avoid execution at the hands of those loyal to the new king. Although the affair allegedly was platonic, the story has endured to become part of romantic legend. A.B. Imeson plays the Duke of Cumberland. Charles would spend the rest of his life traveling in Europe to rally support for his claim to the throne.
