Instructor Kenny Kosek shares a number of valuable tips with viewers interested in improving their bluegrass skills and broadening their repertoire. Kosek, who has been a featured soloist on recordings made by such top talents as James Taylor, Chaka Khan, and David Byrne, demonstrates how to handle bowing, fingering, and a variety of licks. After teaching the basic melodies of 11 different tunes, he explains how students can create variations for each song. The songs played include "Linda Lu," "Little Rabbit," "Tall Timber," "Sugar Hill," "Ace of Spades," and "Cotton Patch Rag."
